Pants that Every Women Should Own

Pants are a staple in my closet. I wear my favorite jeans all the time. But there are just some types of pants that every girl needs in her closet. 1. A perfect fitting dark wash jean This is a must have. Without a doubt every girl needs a perfect fitting pair of dark wash jeans. You can dress them up or dress them down and they will always look good. Once you find that perfect pair be sure to buy several pairs. You can’t replace a great fitting jean. :) 2. Bold/Personality Pants/Patterned Pants Don’t go for boring pants all the time! Opt for a bold color like red, white, leopard, or even green! Chose a pair that compliments your skin tone and style. Make sure that you show your style with whatever you wear.

3.  Boyfriend Jeans

Boyfriend jeans are my favorite type of jeans. They are comfy and super cute. I like to pair mine with a tighter fitting tee to balance out the loose baggy shape.

4. Office Trousers

Ankle length pants, a cute blouse, and pumps can do wonders for you and your figure. Even if you don’t work in an office still keep a pair on hand just in case.

5. Wide Leg Pants

Wide leg pants are the best thing that came back into fashion in my mind. They can actually be quite flattering when paired with the correct accessories and top. A blouse looks amazing with wide leg pants.

6.  Rustic Pants

I recently discovered cargo/khaki/corduroy pants again and I LOVE them. You can easily make turn them into feminine attire by wearing a loose top and adding a cute accessory. Kim K shows us how to wear corduroy pants here, but I personally would wear mine with pumps instead. Then again the military boot look is cute.

What is your favorite pair of pants in your wardrobe??

Top Five Things That Attract Guys

January 25th, 2012 by Belle

Men are a mystery. I’m still trying to figure them out. I can usually read guys pretty well, but some of the time they just plain confuse you. (And I am sure that they would say the same for us)

So I thought that I would share some of the top five things that guys find attractive in girls. Keep these in mind ladies! ;)

1- Her smile

Smiling, laughing, and staying positive are very attractive to guys. The love it when you smile! It shows that you are fun, positive, and beautiful.

2- Personality

Guys love it when you show your personality. I know it can be tempting to hide behind a mask, but don’t. Show off your unique personality and let it shine!

3-  Confidence

Guys like a girl who knows what she wants and who loves her body. (In a non cocky way though) They love it when we are confident and love ourselves. A guy once told me- There is nothing more sexy then a confident woman.

4- A lady

Belive it or not guys aren’t looking for sleezy girls. They want a lady. So show off your body, but keep it classy! They also want someone who is kind, funny, and caring.

5- Her body

I was honestly surprised that after some research I discovered that while guys love a woman’s body, they love her inner beauty even more!!! Isn’t that surprising? I think so.

Make Your Own Trends!

I’m all about fashion. I love reading about what’s hot or not. But I’m also a rebel. Why should Lucky determine what I wear? Why can’t I? (You can tell I’m feisty can’t ya??)

You see, I don’t like looking like everyone else. I’ll wear white jeans when everyone else is wearing blue and I’ll wear orange when everyone is wearing yellow. Get the point?? :D

The thing is, if everyone starts to listen to what Lucky or Elle (as much as we love them!) tells us to wear then how are we going to be unique?

Precisely. The world would be a boring place without Lady Gaga’s crazy outfits and Adam Lambert’s eye makeup. (Love them!!) And they inspired me to be different.

Why die a copy when you where born a original? So go ahead! Wear those animal print heels or those crazy nails! Make your own fashion trends and don’t be a copy!

While it’s good to dress in style just remember to make trends your own and don’t be afraid to be different! Who cares what people think of you! If you let fashion control you then you’ll always be it’s prisoner.

xx

This Winter’s Six Hottest Trends To Keep You Warm!

January 13th, 2012 by Belle

Winter is all about staying warm! And here are our six favorite winter trends to keep you warm all winter long. Even celebs like Katy Perry, Miranda Kerr and Kate Winslet are embracing these warm trends.

Trench Coats

Oooh la-la we love trench coats! I just got one from Forever21 and I LOVE it!

Tall boots

I love boots. I can’t get enough of them and there is nothing I enjoy better then pulling on a cute pair of booties. And it’s one of the hottest (and stylish) ways to stay warm! Shoe Dazzle has some awesome affordable options.

Layer

Layering is quite easy to do actually. It doesn’t have to be bulky! All that you need are some good layering basics that you can get from Walmart, Target, or at Forever21

Chunky Scarves

I’m dying here. I love chunky scarves more then anything else. They are oh-so cute and not to mention SO warm. And the bonus part? You can find them anywhere. Be sure to buy them this spring when they are going on sale to get extra great bargains! Affordable Scarves has some to die for scarves.

Knits

I am melting. I love knit pieces. I own a closet full of sweaters and cardis. And I love to wear a chunky sweater with skinny jeans and boots. It’s a perfect winter look. You can find lots of adorable cardi’s at Forever21

Cute Hats

I love Taylor Swift. But I love her hats even more. And you can steal her effortless look thanks to Forever21

Trends I Want Gone in 2012

January 11th, 2012 by Belle

There are some trends that I wish would just go away. No,  I wish that they would NEVER EVER come back. And here they are…….

The Snookie Poof

Sorry Snookie fans, but I really dislike this girl. She’s loud, rude, and spazzy. I’ll take Marilyn Monroe any day over here. And the worst part? Girls all over America are imitating her cheap hairstyle. Do yourself a favor and skip the poof. Not only do guys think this hairstyle is unattractive, but you’ll also make yourself look dumb in the process.

Too short-shorts

Unless you are working out, on the beach, or you live in the Savannah there is NO excuse for wearing itsy bitsy shorts. No excuse. NONE whatsoever.

Extremely super high heels

I love me some heels but 7″ heels just make you look like a stripper or even worse, Courtney Stodden. Blech.

False eyelashes

Oh ick. It’s one thing to wear mascara and it’s another to wear false eyelashes. Not only will your man find them yucky, but they are a pain in your but to apply. Just skip them girls.

Spray tan

While we love using spray tan on our legs, we always use brands that don’t streak. (Like Sally Hansen!) Skip the spray tan unless you want to end up looking like the cast from Jersey Shore.

Jeggings/Leggings

I don’t get it. I just don’t get it. It’s one thing to wear flattering jeans, but it’s another to just outright wear super tight hooker like pants. UGHHHHHH! OMGOSH ladies please, spare yourself the embarrassing and wear a tunic with them!!

Hair extensions

Give me a break. You aren’t fooling anyone. Hair extensions are cheap. Just grow out your own hair! It looks better anyways! And we all agree that natural looks better can’t we?? :)

What trends do you hate and want gone in 2012??

Five Ways To Keep Your New Year’s Resolution To Exercise!

January 3rd, 2012 by Belle

We all do it! The new year rolls around and we make all these great resolutions. For most women one of those includes exercising.  And here are my top tips for keeping that resolution.

Get up early

If you are anything like me then you stay up late watching movies and then you sleep in until the last possible second. Five minutes before you have to be out the door you yank something from your closet, run into the bathroom wash your face and then grab something to eat. (or you just skip breakfast altogether!) By the time you get going you are twenty minutes late and you only have enough time to slap on some mascara and lip gloss before running out the door.

Sound familiar? If so then you need to STOP! Put down the remote and go to bed at a reasonable time. You can watch those movies on the weekend. ;) And get up early! You’ll have time to get everything done and you’ll even have time for exercise! Just try it for a week ok?? You’ll feel alot better.

Eat healthy

I understand that as a woman when your day is going wrong it’s soooooo easy to reach for the chocolate or Doritos’s and sob while listening to Bruno Mars. (Trust me I know!) BUT DON’T! You’ll only feel horrible later on and you aren’t doing your body any favors. Instead reach for something healthy like- nuts, fresh fruits, and snacks from Kashi. Your body will thank you! That’s not to say that a little junk food is bad, no I indulge in junk food every once in awhile. Just don’t eat it all the time. A little junk food isn’t going to kill ya.

Do Something You Love

My favorite way? To run. I love running. Nothing can compares to music blasting in your ears as the wind wips through your hair and the adrenilane races through your veins as your feet pound along the ground.

Unfortunately over the years I have injured my ankle several times and it is no longer possible for me to run OR do hurdles. So I improvised. If I don’t have time to use my DVD program I’ll turn up the music and dance around. Dancing is a fun way to exercise and plus who wouldn’t want to have fun while getting into shape!!!

Use a exercise program

I recommend the Top Trainer’s dvd program. It’s quick, easy, and helps to keep you stay in shape. This program is amazing and will whip you into shape real fast. I’ll be using this program to stay/get fit throughout the year and I’m looking forward to using it to shape up my body.

Have FUN

The best way to stick with your goal to lose weight and exercise is to have fun. Get a friend to be your partner. Who knows you might just meet some cuties at the gym! ;)

What are your tips to stay in shape?

White Denim Jacket!

January 2nd, 2012 by Belle

Ok ladies! I decided to try something new. Outfit of the week! Well, sort of. I’ll post outfit ideas when I get a chance and share with you how you can re-create them!

Today’s features my white denim jacket from Old Navy. It’s the star of this show and adds a bit of edge to the outfit. I literally threw this outfit together in seconds.

My favorite part? The jacket hides any flaws. You can easily hide any of your “flaws” with a great jacket or blazer. Plus the jacket/blazer look is really at the moment.

I was in a hurry so I just grabbed my go-to brown handbag. It’s adorable and even if it doesn’t go 100% with the outfit, I still love it. Besides who said that everything had to be matchy-matchy anyways???? It’s good to break some fashion rules!

Of course if you know me I always add my own personal flair. And since I’m also a lover of boho items I added my favorite necklace made from recycled beads and fibers. Cute right?

And for my shoes I grabbed my oh-so comfortable heels from Rockport. These bad boys are amazing. If you are looking for a cute pair of heels that are super comfy then you have to buy these! They have around a 1-2″ heel so my 5″7 frame looks around 5″8.

Ignore any flaws please! Nobody’s perfect! (cue Jessie J!) :)  I have no clue what that streak of white is on my sweater. It must be my camera because that’s not on my sweater!! :D And the jacket really isn’t crooked. I was pulling on it from the one side…..  Oooh, that picture is making me want to pull it and straighten it. Grr……:P

What I wore-

Aeropostale Sweater (thrifted for $2)

Old Navy White Denim Jacket (thrifted for under $10)

See Thru Soul Jeans (Macy’s)

Necklace from FiveAccessories.com

Purse from mark

Heels from Rockport

My nails which badly need to be redone Zoya’s Shay

Happy New Year!!!

Finding The Best Sweater For Your Body Type!

October 15th, 2011 by Belle

Every fall, thousands of women fall victim to fashion and unknowingly turn themselves into pumpkins by selecting sweaters based on style instead of their body shape. Thanks to our friends at Dress Barn, they provided us with these tips so we don’t have to turn into pumpkins!

  • Pear-Shaped (bottom half of your body is larger than your upper half):
    • Select a sweater that ends at your waist so as not to draw attention to your lower half.
    • A-line sweaters flatter this shape and will not cling to your middle.
    • All-over patterns will add to the illusion of proportion.
    • Opt for round- or square-necklines. This will draw more attention to your upper body and less attention to your lower half.

  • Long and Lean:
    • Choose a wrap-sweater or belted sweater in order to define your waist line.
    • Go bold—a slimmer figure can handle bright colors, think textures, etc,
    • Create curves by choosing a sweater with plenty of detail; think pockets, embellishment, patterns, etc.
    • This shape can handle a longer sweater/sweater dress. Pair with stylish boots and tights to complete the look.

  • Petite:
    • Closer-fitting (but not skintight) styles are perfect for petites.
    • Look for chunky knits to pump up the volume on your top half.
    • Opt for sweaters that have standout embellishments such as pockets, ruffles or bows.
    • Pair sweater dresses with heeled boots to bring your style to a whole new level.

  • Plus Size:
    • Sweaters that are belted or cinched at the waist will best accentuate this shape.
    • V-neck sweaters or long necklaces will draw attention up toward your face and neckline which creates a visually slimming look; avoid turtlenecks.
    • Keep it simple; opt for darker colors and patterns to accent your curves, but makes sure it fits. Baggy will only make you look bigger.
    • Be cautious of fabric; bulky will add unwanted bulge. Think lightweight and airy.

Whatever your body type, Dress Barn has all your clothing needs covered for Fall!
