Sulfur does what?!?

Remember those NADS hair removal strips I tried a few posts back? They’re now firmly on my shit-list. My face now looks like I spent some time making nice with an industrial strength sander. Oh so sexy. In any case, I reached for my new favorite product-DDF’s Sulfur Mask. My gorgeous Sephora Diva best friend sent me a sample along with my birthday presents (thanks babe!) and I’ve never been in a relationship that involved such strong love and lust.

The first time I applied this mask, I was having a run-of-the-mill breakout. Miss Sephora Diva had cautioned me that there was a strong smell that accompanied the mask, so I was prepared to gag a little bit as I opened the jar. Fortunately, I don’t seem to have a very sensitive sense of smell, and wasn’t bothered at all! Then again, my boyfriend wasn’t bothered either, so don’t let yourself be swayed away from this product by the word, “sulfur.” (Side note: For some reason, when I was in kindergarten I was pretty insistent that my father’s birth stone was sulfur. I told everyone.)

For your benefit, I did a little digging! According to healthvitaminsguide.com,

“Sulfur is known as a healing mineral. It aids every cell in the elimination of toxic substances through agitation. Sulfur aids functions in enzyme reactions and protein synthesis and is important in cellular respiration.”

The site then goes on to ramble in disturbingly incomprehensible terms, but basically… When applied to the skin, particularly at the first sign of a breakout, sulfur products will help eliminate the problem-and potentially stop the breakout completely! For those sort of results, sulfur isn’t the only potentially disgusting product I’d apply to my face!

Now, back to DDF’s amazing mask: if you have even slightly trouble skin, you must own it! It has a wonderful creamy texture, dries quickly, and only needs to be left on the skin for 10 minutes! That’s pretty much enough time to give yourself a pedicure-or watch one third of a sitcom (apply at the first commercial break, rinse at the second)! The mask rinses of without much hassle, and left my skin feeling porcelain smooth. The best part? My skin was definitely clearer the next morning! My only suggestion-make sure you slather on an oil free moisturizer afterwards, or else you might feel a little dry and tight.

At Sephora, a 4 oz. tub retails for $34. Steep, I know-but you really only need to apply the mask to your trouble areas! I plan on picking one up ASAP, and I know it’ll last me a long time. Besides, can you really put a price tag on great skin?

Smooth & Smiling,

The Beauty Sniper
