This year has been big for me. I’ve moved, changed schools, left a relationship, made new friends… And started a small collection of designer items. The first was a fabulous pair of Tory Burch sunglasses, which I wear religiously. The most recent? A Rebecca Minkoff tote I won at BlogHer10. Now, don’t think I’m bragging… There’s most definitely something in it for you!

Ebay Fashion sponsored a giveaway at BlogHer, through which I won the Rebecca Minkoff bag – and a Dooney & Bourke tote that will soon be happily heading out to live with one of you lovely ladies. Yes, that’s right – right here, right now, you’ve got the opportunity to win a fabulous designer bag! It’s sitting on the couch next to me right now, and as much as I love my Minkoff… I’m still going to have trouble parting with this baby!

Back to School with Softsoap: Body Wash Trio Giveaway!

I have an entire closet packed with body products. It’s a little embarrassing… But it’s true. I’m obsessed with shampoo, conditioner, and of course… Body wash! Between school, work, blogging, moving, and a thousand other things that make up my daily life – shower time is a little piece of heaven.

Softsoap has a new line of body washes that have launched just in time for you to stock up before heading to your new dorm. 15 oz. retails for only $5.49, so Softsoap is a super affordable way to create a shower paradise.

This month, I received the Softsoap Nutri Serums Body Nourishing Wash, which is an illuminating formula that contains mineral extracts. I love formulas with tiny beads, and as you can see from the picture at left, this one fits the bill!

Softsoap’s Nutri Serum Wash is a high lather, super foamy, totally fun wash to use. Because it’s so inexpensive, I don’t have to feel guilty using a large dose on my shower pouf – although there’s plenty of lather with a small amount, too! I enjoy the light fragrance – a light, citrusy vanilla that doesn’t leave me wanting or overwhelmed. Beyond that, my skin is soft and clean when I get out of the shower… Just how I like it!

Also new to Softsoap’s body wash line are the Black Orchid & Velvet Hibiscus and Body Butter Mega Moisture in Heavenly Vanilla. I haven’t had the chance to try them yet, but one lucky gal is going to!

New from Conair: Infiniti Pro (Review & Giveaway) CLOSED

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had the same blow dryer. I got it at some big box store back in high school, when $20 was a big deal for me (okay, it kind of still is). It’s blue, weighs about ten pounds, and is so exhausting to use that I frequently clunk myself in the head with it. Or, at least, I used to. Conair graciously sent me the latest in greatest in the realm of blowdryers: their Infiniti Pro.

Right away, I fell in love with the orange shade – it totally brightens up my bathroom AND my morning routine. I cannot put into words how much I love this blow dryer. It put my old one completely to shame – I might as well have hired a senior citizen to blow on my hair every morning. The Infiniti Pro practically blows the hair off my head when I set it on high, which I imagine is a setting intended for long hair. Low gets my short hair dry in a snap, and adds volume without killing my hair’s health or shine.

The AC motor is responsible for most of my hair drying pleasure. Conair used this type of motor because it’s powerful, but still has a powerful air velocity (which dries hair faster and lessens exposure). The “Cold Shot” button provides a blast of super cold air, which helps set style and give roots life. AND, the AC motor has a life span three times that of the usual (DC) motor.

Beyond the benefits of the AC motor, the Infiniti Pro also creates neutralizing ions that seal the hair cuticle – which reduces frizz and enhances shine. My hair looks so much healthier and prettier now than it did with my old blow dryer. Plus, it has 3 heat levels (which I appreciate greatly when it’s sweltering hot), 2 concentrator attachments (to achieve a variety of styles), and a removable filter (to prevent lint buildup).

SOHO Hearts Jewelry Giveaway (ARV $59.95)

Back in October of last year, SOHO Hearts was a generous sponsor of our fundraiser, Fashionable Gals for a Cure. Now, they’re offering a great giveaway for one lucky reader!

Soho Hearts was created by Juliette Booker, a native of Amsterdam. With her eye for style and glamour, she created a beautiful line of jewelry that is now available worldwide. “The collection conveys not only Juliette’s gifted eye for bold and subtle statements through the artistry of fine craftsmanship. It also serves as a very personal example of the heart and soul that nourishes her passion.”

I like the wide range of styles available from Soho Hearts. The line includes everything from skulls to flowers, delicate charms to huge statement pieces. There’s such a variety that it’s likely just about every fashionista will find an accessory that works for them. Soho Hearts also sells headbands, scarves, key chains, and other accessories that will help add style and flair to other areas of your life.

The piece I received for review is the Crystal Bow Necklace in Marine Blue (also available in a gorgeous Purple). Even though I fell in love with it online, the necklace is even more stunning in person. The beautiful beads, which are in a range of colors and sizes, catch the light and everyone’s eye. The fabric covered beads are equally stunning, and the thick ribbon is a beautiful touch. While this piece is a little heavy for Summer, it pairs well with flirty summer dresses for a night out on the town. Mainly, I’m looking forward to wearing it this fall or for fancy dinners and cocktail parties.

I love the quality of this piece, and the affordability of many Soho Hearts pieces. There are many more on my wish list, and I hope to check out their NYC boutique when I visit later this Summer!

Lingerie.com Review & Winner’s Choice Giveaway (ARV $65)

Recently, I was given the fun opportunity to do a review with Lingerie.com. It’s a fabulous site that has a wide range of lingerie, costumes, sexy panties, corsets, stockings, and even plus size lingerie. The products on the site range from classy to… well, yes, trashy – but in the way that can be perfectly appropriate for consenting adult couples! So whether you’re wearing these pieces under your clothes for a bit of secret, sexy confidence, or playing “stranger” (or any other role) – Lingerie.com is where you’ll want to shop.

Personally, I like more classic, tasteful pieces – ones that can even double as a nightgown on very hot nights. I was immediately drawn to the Maxime Babydoll (with matching G-String), which retails for a super affordable $29.99! It’s a really cute piece that I was delighted to receive in the mail. In person, the Maxime Babydoll is well made and adorable. It fits true to size and is both flattering and sexy. And even though it’s very lacy, it’s definitely comfortable to wear – so if you’re not 100% comfortable sleeping nude, this is a nice alternative when you have company!

The second item I selected to review didn’t actually have anything to do with the bedroom, for me. I’m just in love with these shoes! The Jane-G Glitter 4 Inch Heels are perfect for sexy get-ups and role playing, but for me, I’m happy to just wear them out for the night. They fulfill the tiny drag queen inside of me that’s clamoring to get out. I usually wear shoes between sizes 9 and 10, but selected a 10 for this pair. They’re a little bit snug, but if you don’t plan on spending much time, er, on your feet – it really won’t be a concern, right? I have a feeling they’re going to stretch out well and be fine for spending more time on my feet. Then again, with 4 inch heels, it might be in my best idea to stay seated! The heels also retail for an affordable $29.99.

Faith Zelenko’s beauty obsession started at the age of 18 when she attended beauty school. I love the story of how Bambola Beauty was launched. My passion for makeup started watching my mom getting ready to go out. We still love to shop for cosmetics, discuss the products I’m reviewing, and give each other beauty related gifts. - CoEnzyme Repair Night Creme .25 fl. oz. (can be used for daytime)
- Mango Moisturizing Mask .25 fl. oz.

It comes in a cute clear plastic case with a card that explains all of the products (instructions for use and ingredients). The kit is intended for Normal to Dry skin, which I had to keep in mind while using it on my combination skin.

The Nourishing Apricot Cleansing Creme was the first product I tried – you’ve gotta start with a clean face! The first thing I noticed was the heavenly apricot scent. The smell wasn’t artificial or overwhelming; rather, it was a light, natural fruity scent that made the cleanser a pleasure to use. I found that the cleanser worked best on the days where my skin was drier, but didn’t cut through the grime completely on very oily days (remember that this IS meant for normal/dry skin).

The Vitamin C Extreme Serum and Pomegranate Soothing Toner were great follow ups. The Vitamin C Serum caused a gentle, pleasant tingling when I applied it. The serum has “substantial anti-oxidant benefits this serum hydrates and replenishes dehydrated, mature or sun damaged skin” and it “combats visible premature aging by fighting destructive free radicals.” These are important benefits, particularly for older skin. The toner lives up to its title of being “soothing” – it helps calm my skin after a shower and cleans away any remaining bits of product. The smell is equally wonderful to that of the Cleansing Creme as well.

The CoEnzyme Repair Night Creme didn’t work extremely well for my skin. It tends to get more oily as the day progresses, so a cleanser that leans towards drier skin isn’t quite what I’m looking for. It works better for me in the morning when I wake up with dehydrated skin – and once again, I love the smell! The colors in this kit are very pretty, in a range of citrus shades, that make them visually appealing.

The Intensive Eye Creme comes in a tear-top envelop, which isn’t my favorite thing ever. I don’t like using products that can’t be resealed, so while this may have lasted a whole week, I only used it twice. The Intensive Eye Creme addresses the special needs of the “Eye Zone,” which is prone to visible signs of aging. It includes ingredients like Organic Marshmallow Extract, which increases circulation and reduces dark circles around the eye. Calming ingredients like Organic Calendula, Sea Buckthorn, and Organic Sunflower that refresh and encourage elasticity and smoothness.

The Volcanic Mineral Scrub and Mango Moisturizing Mask are the special treatment products included in the kit. I love scrubs – they work really well when I’ve been wearing I’m inordinate amounts of makeup or have been testing heavy products. Plus, they cut through that oil I keep mentioning! The Volcanic Mineral Scrub is no exception, and has definitely earned its place in my shower. The Mango Moisturizing Mask “revitalizes while enhancing skin condition and restoring natural suppleness, elasticity and softness.” It features Mango Butter, which is rich in Vitamin C, and Seaweed Extract. The combination rejuvenates and gently moisturizes dry, devitalized skin. It also contains Salicylic Acid, which gently exfoliates dead skin cells and reveals the fresh, healthy skin underneath.

Overall, I really enjoyed this kits. The products were visually appealing, smelled great, and had a definite positive impact on my skin.
