Winterizing Red with Ruche

February 23rd, 2012 by Belle

I’m known for being a fashion rebel. Technically in February you are supposed to pack away all those cute dresses RIGHT? Wrong. I keep them out and winterize them. Like so. :)

Like? I think this is an awesome way to get extra wear out of otherwise clothing fit for warmer weather. Isn’t this dress adorable? I love the colors. And the belt is a lovely added touch. This dress is really well made and works for all occasions.

This adorable dress is from Ruche and can I just say that I love it? It’s so girly and flirty. It will be perfect during the summer months when I have a date and need to dress up a bit or I have a special occasion. But for now it’s perfect with tights/leggings and cute boots.

I got my friend to snap this picture for me while we were outside. I love the way the dress looks under a coat. Excuse the dirty, disgusting, yucky, snow now all over the ground. That’s what I get for living in the midwest instead of California. (It’s actually snowing at the moment here! Yay!) **extreme sarcasm**

I can’t wait to put away my coat, boots, and tights and drag out my wedges, shorts, and crop tops. Oh summer, you can’t come fast enough!!

Enough about me and my nogalistic longings for warmer weather, let’s talk about Ruche for a moment shall we? I’m utterly and completely in love with this store. They ship so fast and I am so impressed with the service. I’ll be buying from them soon. The only bad thing?  It’s on the pricey side, but it’s well worth it I assure you!

All the clothing is winter inspired and I can’t get over how cute the things are! :) Until I pay my bills this month and can buy another dress from them, I’ll be wearing this baby all winter long.

Are you like me? Do you wear what you want during the winter or do you pack everything away?

*Ruche was nice enough to send me this dress, but I REALLY do love it and I’m totally in love with them. It’s not a load of number two*

Spice Up Winter With These Six Accessories!

February 7th, 2012 by Belle

Personally, I find that winter is SO boring. I mean its drab enough with the snow so who wants to wear dull winter clothing? However, there is a solution. I started incorporating bright accessories into my winter wardrobe and it makes all the difference! Here are my top six accessories to spice up winter!

Bright Gloves

Winter gear doesn’t have to be dull! I love these adorable red gloves from Target. At $19.99 you can also pick up another color in pink, green, and lots of other fun colors.

Boots

My favorite fashion item this winter? Boots. I own tons of boots in different styles and colors and I love each and every one of them! However, my current favorite is the Dinka boots from Naturalizer. These boots are currently on sale for $119.99 and you can’t beat a price like that!

Red Ballet Flats

So maybe this counts more of a shoe then an accessory, but I’m going to list it anyways. Red ballet flats are my top pick for this winter. They add an extra kick to every outfit and you don’t have to worry about your feet killing you in heels. Target has some extra cute ballet flats for under $50

Cute Scarves

I love scarves. They are a easy way to spice up any winter outfit and who doesn’t love a chic scarf? What I love about scarves is that they are extremely affordable. Forever21 sells some amazing scarves for under $10 you can’t beat that!

Statement Necklaces

Statement necklaces are an easy way to finish off any outfit. Pair one of these babies from Fantasy Jewelry Box with a black dress and killer heels and you have a ultra chic outfit! The necklace does all the talking for you.

Fashionable Hats

I love hats. I could own a hundred of these things. And my favorite part? If I don’t have time to wash my hair I’ll just slip one on! Forever21 is fixing my hat addiction with a ton of hats under $10. For that price you can’t go wrong!

What are your must have winter accessories?

Wardrobe Basics: Go From Drab to Fab This Year!

By Sunil Ramchandani, Senior Designer for Jockey Person to Person

January and February are challenging months to get dressed—Fall is long gone and Spring is not quite here. This, combined with a possible vacation to somewhere warm and tropical, means your wardrobe is doing some serious multi-tasking. With the help of these five fantastic wardrobe basics, looking great will be effortless:

  1. Have a Blazer On Hand - A blazer is an easy way to dress up an outfit: mix it with jeans, khakis, pants or even a pencil skirt to go from casual to dressy. Blazers in black, gold or white mixed with floral print dresses are a big trend for Spring, so a well-fit blazer will be an essential piece throughout the year.
  2. Dark Wash Jeans with Minimal Decoration - These have become a great item that takes you from work to play or from day to night. It’s best to choose a fabric weight that works year-round. Denim is a consistent fashion staple, so more than one pair never hurts!
  3. The Crisp White Woven Shirt - This is the wardrobe staple that’s a go-to when you simply do not know what to wear. Take your cue from Jackie Kennedy, who showed up year- round in a crisp white button-down shirt, keeping it simple but always classic.
  4. The LBD (Little Black Dress) – This type of dress works every season and any time of the year; it’s all in how you accessorize it. Most style experts will tell you “Don’t leave home without your favorite statement piece of jewelry and your Little Black Dress!” If you are not sure what to wear in a more formal situation, always reach for your LBD!
  5. Camisoles and Tank Tops – This year, select stylish, well-fitted camisoles and tanks in colors that flatter your skin tone. These must look good when worn under sweaters and jackets or just by themselves; this way, they are extremely versatile and work in any season.

Make these five essentials the cornerstone of your wardrobe and you’ll be surprised how they will make you look and feel good as you transition through the seasons this year. Happy 2012!

I’m the sort of girl who is always on her feet. And I always end up with sore feet as a result of my heels. Thankfully I was introduced by a really sweet rep to Butterfly Twists!

What are Butterfly Twists? Well, they are foldable, light-weight, durable ballet flats that you can wear all over the town and all through the night!

The patented technique used to create the soles is tough enough to endure the most hectic of schedules and late nights with a process unlike any other that has been used by previous foldable flats brands.

They sent me a pair of Valerie ballet flats to test out and can I just say that I LOVE them? They are so, so, so cute and they fit perfectly into my purse.

I love how comfortable and versatile these flats are. I can wear them for a night out or just when my feet need a break. I’d love to own more of these flats in all of their different styles and colors. With a variety to choose from you are sure to find a pair that you love.

Long-lasting, fun, chic and easy to pack for all your travels once you try a pair of Butterfly Twists you will be hooked! Be sure to check out the rest of their products. We love all of them!

Pants that Every Women Should Own

January 26th, 2012 by Belle

Pants are a staple in my closet. I wear my favorite jeans all the time. But there are just some types of pants that every girl needs in her closet. 1. A perfect fitting dark wash jean This is a must have. Without a doubt every girl needs a perfect fitting pair of dark wash jeans. You can dress them up or dress them down and they will always look good. Once you find that perfect pair be sure to buy several pairs. You can’t replace a great fitting jean. :) 2. Bold/Personality Pants/Patterned Pants Don’t go for boring pants all the time! Opt for a bold color like red, white, leopard, or even green! Chose a pair that compliments your skin tone and style. Make sure that you show your style with whatever you wear.

3.  Boyfriend Jeans

Boyfriend jeans are my favorite type of jeans. They are comfy and super cute. I like to pair mine with a tighter fitting tee to balance out the loose baggy shape.

4. Office Trousers

Ankle length pants, a cute blouse, and pumps can do wonders for you and your figure. Even if you don’t work in an office still keep a pair on hand just in case.

5. Wide Leg Pants

Wide leg pants are the best thing that came back into fashion in my mind. They can actually be quite flattering when paired with the correct accessories and top. A blouse looks amazing with wide leg pants.

6.  Rustic Pants

I recently discovered cargo/khaki/corduroy pants again and I LOVE them. You can easily make turn them into feminine attire by wearing a loose top and adding a cute accessory. Kim K shows us how to wear corduroy pants here, but I personally would wear mine with pumps instead. Then again the military boot look is cute.

What is your favorite pair of pants in your wardrobe??

We Love Yours Truly Clothing!

I recently fell in love with a company called Yours Truly. They sell the most adorable clothing and accessories. Check out some of my favorite items from them-

Lovey Scarf

Katrin Earrings

Jenny Top

I had a chance to review their Lindsay dress and I love it! It’s a adorable dress that I can pair with tights and tall boots or I can wear it over jeans for a cute tunic sort of look.

The dress is very versatile and comes in several different colors. You can wear it during all four seasons and still look great.

I love how well made this dress is and how adorable it is. I got a xtra small and it’s a little big on me, but that’s ok. I’d just go a size smaller if I were you. :)
