Top Five Unhealthiest Junk Foods

After a long winter Spring is finally here and with it comes beach season. I know that like most of you I personally am out of shape and I want my body back! So I thought that I would share these great tips from Kimberly Snyder, celebrity nutritionist and author of The Beauty Detox Solution. Stay away from these five foods to stay bikini ready all spring!

1.      Fried chicken

Made from conventional chicken laden with hormones and antibiotics, covered with gluten-containing breading and chemicals like MSG and salt, and fried in cheap, rancid oils, fried chicken is high in calories, fat, and other chemicals that can make you sick. Skip it altogether. Please, please just never eat fried chicken.

2.      Deep fried cheese sticks

Take cheese (loaded with fat, salt, hormones and antibiotics), bread it, and deep fry it. How does that even sound as if it might be “food”? Skip them and have some veggie sticks with hummus, instead.

3.      Fish and chips

Many people select this as a “healthy” alternative in fast food, but it is anything but that. Fish serves as a sponge that mops up all of the toxic chemicals from the sea. Bread it in wheat flour (gluten) and fry it up, and you’re looking at an unhealthy meal. Avoid fish unless you know where it comes from, and opt for a salad instead.

4.      Pepperoni pizza

Cheese and white flour combined with nitrosamine-containing salty processed meats, pizza is toxic and unhealthy. Why not try some brown rice or quinoa pasta with tomato sauce instead?

5.      Nachos

Corn chips loaded with cheese, meat and beans and then dipped in sour cream? Really?? Dairy, hamburger, salt, and GMO corn are just a few of the health issues associated with this high fat, high calorie snack. Instead, have some vegetable sticks dipped in salsa.

Top Ten Trainers DVD Review

I’m a busy gal. (Ok, I might be a little lazy too. Especially when White Collar is on)  ;) I just can’t see justify how I can benefit from exercising when I can watch Matt Bomer on tv….. Anyhow, on to exercising. :)

I used to run. But several ankle injuries have put a damper on that form of working out. So I started checking out other fun alternatives. (I refuse to exercise if it’s not going to be fun, I’ll sit and watch Matt Bomer thank you very much!)

And I’m pleased to introduce to you ladies the Top Ten Trainer’s dvd program. I’m officially in love with this program. You are getting  your own personal trainer just like the celebs. Always loved Britney Spears abs? JLO’s legs? And wished that you could have them? Well, know you can!!!

This program is beyond awesome. The trainers make working out fun. And the best part? It doesn’t take you forever. You can work out in your own timing. Whether that is 15 minutes or 2 hours.

You will be challenged with programs like-

  • Cardio Buns Latin Dance
  • Thighs Yoga Plyometrics
  • Core Ballet Interval Training
  • Abs Pilates Kickboxing
  • Total toning yoga

Each of the ten DVDs features a separate trainer with a specific workout routine. If you want to try kickboxing then their is a DVD for that, or if you are in a mood for yoga then check out that DVD.

My favorite part? Everything is included. There are no extras that need to be purchased. Top Trainers come with 5 free gifts including:

  • Fitness Guide
  • Wall Calendar
  • 1 free month subscription to ediets.com
  • Resistance band
  • Yoga for weight loss DVD

Seriously. You ladies need to check this program out. I’m in love with it. I’ve been using it for several months and it’s my favorite exercise program and it’s such a great way to stay (or get) fit!!

For more information please visit- healthyfitbodies.com And know I’m going back to watching White Collar… don’t mind me. I did my exercise for the day. :)

Get Into Shape With MPG Activewear

It’s important to have proper fitness clothing to wear when you are working out. I am a very active girl and I am so excited to introduce to you all MPG Active Wear.

MPG sells active wear for men and women. I had a chance to review two of their awesome products. I’m a runner (I’m currently taking a break from it though due to a injury) and it’s important for me to have proper running clothing while I run.

I love their Roxy Capri’s. They are great for everything from yoga, dance, to heavy workouts. I love how comfortable these pants are and how well made they are. These pants dry super fast and have awesome ventilation and are perfect to wear when you are working out.

Normally workout pants are really not my favorite thing to wear, but I love how breathable these pants are and how nicely they fit me. They are really flattering and I’m SO happy with them!

These pants come in several different colors and come in sizes xs-xl so you are sure to find your size and favorite color.

I also really love their Umbra Shirt. It’s so comfortable and is actually the first active wear shirt that I like. Normally I hate active wear shirts because they are so restrictive and unflattering. But this shirt is really quite flattering. And I actually love it!

This shirt comes in quite a few colors and come in sizes xs-xl so you are sure to find something that you love!

I am really impressed with MPG and highly recommend that all you active girls check them out. We think that you will love their products.

Be sure to check out the rest of MPG Active Wear’s products.

The product for this review was provided to us free of charge for the purpose of product testing. This does not effect our opinion of the products in any way. We only write about products we personally like and use, regardless of how they were acquired.

Five Ways To Keep Your New Year’s Resolution To Exercise!

January 3rd, 2012 by Belle

We all do it! The new year rolls around and we make all these great resolutions. For most women one of those includes exercising.  And here are my top tips for keeping that resolution.

Get up early

If you are anything like me then you stay up late watching movies and then you sleep in until the last possible second. Five minutes before you have to be out the door you yank something from your closet, run into the bathroom wash your face and then grab something to eat. (or you just skip breakfast altogether!) By the time you get going you are twenty minutes late and you only have enough time to slap on some mascara and lip gloss before running out the door.

Sound familiar? If so then you need to STOP! Put down the remote and go to bed at a reasonable time. You can watch those movies on the weekend. ;) And get up early! You’ll have time to get everything done and you’ll even have time for exercise! Just try it for a week ok?? You’ll feel alot better.

Eat healthy

I understand that as a woman when your day is going wrong it’s soooooo easy to reach for the chocolate or Doritos’s and sob while listening to Bruno Mars. (Trust me I know!) BUT DON’T! You’ll only feel horrible later on and you aren’t doing your body any favors. Instead reach for something healthy like- nuts, fresh fruits, and snacks from Kashi. Your body will thank you! That’s not to say that a little junk food is bad, no I indulge in junk food every once in awhile. Just don’t eat it all the time. A little junk food isn’t going to kill ya.

Do Something You Love

My favorite way? To run. I love running. Nothing can compares to music blasting in your ears as the wind wips through your hair and the adrenilane races through your veins as your feet pound along the ground.

Unfortunately over the years I have injured my ankle several times and it is no longer possible for me to run OR do hurdles. So I improvised. If I don’t have time to use my DVD program I’ll turn up the music and dance around. Dancing is a fun way to exercise and plus who wouldn’t want to have fun while getting into shape!!!

Use a exercise program

I recommend the Top Trainer’s dvd program. It’s quick, easy, and helps to keep you stay in shape. This program is amazing and will whip you into shape real fast. I’ll be using this program to stay/get fit throughout the year and I’m looking forward to using it to shape up my body.

Have FUN

The best way to stick with your goal to lose weight and exercise is to have fun. Get a friend to be your partner. Who knows you might just meet some cuties at the gym! ;)

What are your tips to stay in shape?
